Individual Therapy Session
Currently, all individual sessions are being held virtually. I am licensed in the state of Ohio and can only meet with clients who also reside in Ohio.
Therapy doesn’t lose its impact just because we’re meeting through a screen. Virtual sessions can be just as meaningful and effective as in-person ones — you still get the same support, tools, and safe space you need, without the commute. Down the road, I hope to also offer in-person options for those who prefer sitting face-to-face, but for now, virtual therapy makes it easy to show up for yourself, right from the comfort of home.
Walk-and-Talk Session
***available for clients in Miami county and surrounding areas.
Walk. Talk. Heal. Step outside and step into clarity.
Walk-and-Talk Therapy sessions move beyond the confines of a traditional office — meeting you in parks, trails, or serene outdoor settings to foster conversation and connection in a natural environment.
What Is Walk-and-Talk Therapy?
Think of it as therapy with a breath of fresh air. During your session, we’ll stroll together, side by side, rather than sitting face-to-face in a room. This relaxed dynamic can ease discomfort and reduce the pressure of making or maintaining eye contact.
Why Choose This Approach?
Unlock what’s holding you back. Nature often helps us loosen up — when comfort replaces stillness, many find it easier to articulate their thoughts and emotions.
Boost mindfulness and grounding. Walking in nature supports present-moment awareness and helps anchor your thoughts and feelings.
Strengthen mind–body connection. Moving your body helps align your mental state with physical energy — a powerful step toward emotional awareness and self-regulation .
Elevate mood and energy. Exercise triggers endorphin release, driving mood improvements, increased energy, better sleep, and stress reduction.
Spark creativity. Many clients report clearer thinking and inspired ideas when immersed in nature — walking can refresh the mind and invite new perspectives.
Evidence That Walk-and-Talk Works
Research affirms the effectiveness of this approach. A clinical trial found that outdoor Walk-and-Talk therapy led to greater improvements in psychological distress, anxiety, and stress compared to traditional sessions — and can be especially engaging for men. Additional studies highlight enhanced client–therapist rapport, reduced therapy resistance, and an overall more relaxed dynamic.
3 Considerations Before Opting for a Walk-and-Talk Session
Privacy matters. Outdoors, confidentiality isn't as guaranteed as in a private office. It’s important to assess comfort levels and choose quieter routes.
Not ideal for every modality. Highly sensitive work — like EMDR or deep trauma exploration — may be more effective in a controlled, indoor setting.
Plan for the elements. Weather, safety, and accessibility need thoughtful coordination — for example, selecting familiar or sheltered routes and having a good backup plan.
*** Walk-and-Talk sessions are only available for follow-up sessions, not initial assessments.
Investment
Many of my clients choose to pay privately for their sessions because they value the freedom and privacy that comes with therapy outside of insurance. This means we don’t have to limit the frequency or types of sessions based on insurance requirements. Instead, we create a plan that truly fits YOUR needs and goals.
You deserve therapy that works for you, not your insurance company.

Your very first session: we’ll talk through what brings you to therapy, your personal history, and any goals or concerns you’d like to focus on. It gives me the opportunity to learn about you as a whole person, not just the challenges you’re facing, so that I can tailor therapy to best support your needs.

After the initial assessment, our regular sessions will typically be 50 minutes long. These sessions are your time and space to focus on what matters most to you — whether that’s working through current or past stressors, exploring patterns in your life, or practicing new skills and coping strategies.

If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to get reimbursed for part (or all) of your sessions. Upon request, I’ll provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company.

I am currently in the process of onboarding with Headway, a platform that makes it easier for clients to use their health insurance for therapy. Headway handles the scheduling, billing, and insurance paperwork, so you don’t have to stress about the logistics — you just get to show up and focus on you.
